Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

I agree with a few points but making stuff really doesn't cost that much. I made my vest with 7 patches, 200 studs, 4 buttons and an old German fleck camo shirt for about 25$. The rest my clothes I buy at Fleet Farm's surplus section or Army/Navy stores. More kids who are into punk should DIY more, I see a lack of it at shows I go to.

It's the same mentality that young, white suburban teens have when they gravitate towards gangster rap.
Being poor is a fetish for many people in the punk scene.
Hence, wealthy white kids living on daddy's money riding their SUVs and raiding a grocery store dumpster in designer jeanm.

That reminds me of a joke on a comic. I can't find it, but I think it's still funny just narrated.
- "where did you get money to buy grocieries?"
- "I didn't, I've become a freegan!"
- "You mean that stuff is dumpstered?"
- "Yeah, it's still fresh and it will save us a lot of money."
- "Couldn't we just cancel our cable service?"
- "Hey, I said I'm freegan, not crazy."

You're not wrong about that...
It's an extreme on both ends. The middle class is adios anyway.
It makes sense we'd notice the repercussions of the recession [mouth-full of R's] in subcultures and "scene's" [hate that word].
Boo.
