Limo repo'ed during teens' prom

JENKS, OK -- It wasn't the limo ride they were expecting. Some Oklahoma high students watched as their prom limo was driven away by a repo man.

Landon Wiland says he and friends had rented the limo for Friday night's big dance, held at the Oklahoma Aquarium in a Tulsa suburb.

They had just gotten out of the limousine when a man got in and drove off. Landon says at first he thought their limo had been car-jacked.

The limo company owner says the incident stems from miscommunication between his lender and the repo company.

Landon says at least he'll have a great story to someday tell his kids.

Ben - That has to suck. I notice they don't have a quote from Landon's girlfriend on the matter. At least he's able to laugh about it a little.

When I was in college, I repo'ed cars on the side. I have taken a few cars from strange places, but I would have never done something like that. It is one thing to do something that puts the owner in a compromised position, they are behind in payments and penalties are to be incurred, but to screw a group of kids who had nothing to do with the issue seems bad form to me.

A REAL repo-man would have been able to successfully collect the car later in the evening without involving children.
