Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Fields Of The Nephilim rule !!!.
Grausamkeit,
You have awesome tastes in music !!!.
I found this nice twangy number for you ...
The Cramps `Human Fly`
You just cant beat bands that sing about B movies and horror films, listening to this song, I wonder if this band influenced the Neph in anyway, or maybe even the `Misfits` to a degree, as you mentioned Glen Danzig ?

Beowulf is back in the house ^_^
Currently listening to Shine on you crazy Diamond - The 17 minute version of it by Pink Floyd.
Still not as good as it was listening to it live.

Great song, Wulfy! I love The Cramps!
Today, I've been listening to Gary Numan ~ Replicas. The whole album. He is so brilliant.

Grausamkeit,
Gary Numan `Replicas` and `The Cramps` = Awesome !!!.
what do you think of Gary Numan`s early `Tubeway Army` stuff, when there were less synths in the music and it was a pit more punk orientated ?
Gary Numan rules !!!.
At moment I`m listening to ...
Tankard `Space Beer`
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmjHv...eature=related
... and drinking `Hobgoblin` beer (the nearest thing to Space Beer) !!!. :P

Replicas is actually the second album by Gary Numan/Tubeway Army. I haven't listened to the self-titled album 'Tubeway Army', yet.

Grausamkeit,
I`ve just gone through my Gary Numan records and cd`s and these are the ones I have so far ...
`Replicas` (the one your listening and I`ve just put on the turntable to play)
`The Pleasure Principle`
`Dance`
`Telekon`
`Best of...`
and a live box set that I cant get my hands on right now as my brother is borrowing it !!!.
The early stuff I mentioned above is on a cd entitled `The Plan` that has lots of unreleased stuff on it (you must get this, its awesome) !!!.

Celtic Frost (Rex Irae/Requiem)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFBfMv0qEWA
This classic track of Celtic frost`s `Into The Pandemonium` (1986) was very ahead of its time.
This song in particular experiments with symphonic and orchestral elements as well as having a female soprano (both barely unheard of in metal back then, but now commonplace with groups such as Sweden`s Therion, who in turn inspiredd Nightwish etc) singing shared vocals with Tom G Warrior.
There is even a tiny bit of Christian Death (Celtic Frost loved this band) in the music, particuallary the vocals, which some feel have a hint of Rozz Williams.
Classic !!!.
