When I fully listen to "Sleep" by Stabbing Westward , I tend to get wierded out. It's the combination of arrangements, atmosphere and lyrical theme that makes it so potent for me.

Just a quick request of The Seven Seals are Revealed At the End of Time As Seven Bows, and the Silent Hill soundtrack songs, or even a full soundtrack. Thanks in advance.

Speaking of Current 93, I actually feel that "Falling Back in Fields of ****" from Dogs Blood Rising is one of the scariest songs of all time. Especially at volume. Used to play that one to frighten the neighbors back in college days. Something about the nursery rhymes, little children's voices, the incessant slow arrhythmic beat, the double entendre of "fields of ****", Steve Ignorant's rants and David Tibet's feedback-drenched screams and growling statements. It's mood music.

Additionally and on a similar subject, the "****" 12 inch by Zos Kia (a band related to Coil and Psychic TV) is one of the most disturbing records I own. It's hard for me to even listen to it. If you ever find the song, you have been forewarned.

P.S. - those 4 stars in the titles above refer both to the grain and the act of violation, btw.

The entire Dark Side of the Moon album haunts me... especially when you sync it with The Wizard of Oz. Spooky...

Man, you hit the nail on the head. The only time I became scared was when I popped in the soundtrack to Silent Hill 3. I had to stop half way through because I started getting the feeling something was creeping up behind me constantly.

One of the freakiest songs I've ever heard, if you listen well to the lyrics, is, Dominions, by, Theatres Des Vampires

Another scary song, again because of the lyrics, is, Close Casket Requiem, by, The Black Dahlia Murder

You know, I've listened to that album so many times and never even heard it. I just listened to the song at full volume and finally did hear it, but it's so quiet it's no wonder I missed it.

Revolution 9 used to scare me also... and some of the short tracks from Type O Negative's "Bloody Kisses" freaked my 14 year old self out big time when I first discovered the album. And some of the stuff from the Sigur Ros album "Von" is majorly creepy.

"Numbers" by Kraftwerk is incredibly creepy. I used to listen to it on repeat back in the 9th grade just because it was so eerie and strange that it would put me into a trance.

Of the Wound by Christian Death is another one that disturbs me, I guess it's the crescendos in the music and the sounds of a baby crying o_O

Pornography by the cure. Reason? Such an eerie chorus, with the voices of thousands and thousands of beings speaking rambutiously in horror and woe. Robert Smith speaks in this song of his lust for REAL FLESH and REAL BLOOD-then it ends with the CD and the player shutting off entirely. Runner ups go to Christian Death for "Spiritual Camp" for mainly the ending with, "Satan is by far the kindest guest"

Prayer, by Christian Death. Those sounds are eerie like crying or cats yowling, and backwards speech at the end... I can't listen to it when I'm alone at night, but I love it all the more for that. The Feeling Somnambulist as well, because of that carousel music.

Also, Gutter Glitter by Switchblade Symphony, especially the lullaby at end. Doesn't actually scare me, but it's still creepy nonetheless.

Then there's that Love Rollercoaster song by The Ohio Players, at the part with the screaming noise. That wouldn't scare me, except I associated it with those popular urban legend internet videos from a few years back. I watched those as a kid and they spooked me, and it's just stuck since then.

"The Herb Girls of Birkenau" by Rasputina. I would listen to Rasputina when I would get dressed for school like two years ago, and when I was putting my shirt on, if this song was playing, I'd do it as fast as I could to minimize the time I was without vision.

Black Spell of Destruction by Burzum. Towards the end, it sounds like someones being tortured. The first time listening to it, I almost threw up, just gave me that reaction.

Severed Eyes of Posession by Wurdulak. By far the most disturbing thing I've ever heard. Ever.

The Donnie Darko score creeps me out something fierce if I listen to it late at night.

Also..."The Black Dog Runs At Night" off the Fire Walk With Me soundtrack scared the crap out of me the first time I heard it.

I'd have to say that the remix of "The Downward Spiral" by Nine Inch Nails creeps me out the most. It's a relatively quiet song, up until Reznor screams a genuine sounding scream, and the music hardly seems like music but a soundtrack to fear itself.
