Our first game released!

As some of you know, I work for an independent games company. We have just officially released our first game.

Here is the official press release:

PRESS RELEASE

HERO REQUIRED, FLOOPIANS NEED FREEING ... ARE YOU FLOOPIAN ENOUGH?

Free the Floopians: Level Mania, the new action platformer by Canvas Software, has been released and is available at the Floopians website www.floopians.com.

Pretoria, South Africa (17 April 2008) – Canvas Software is proud to announce the release of its first commercial game, Free the Floopians: Level Mania. Free the Floopians: Level Mania is a fun action-packed 3D platformer, with over 75 story-driven levels, which places the gamer in an adventure that will decide the fate of all Floopiankind.

Assuming the role of Fled, the Floopians' one and only hero, players are entrusted with running and jumping their way through the Caverns of Dragon Mountain freeing as many Floopians as they can before their time runs out. Our hero Fled is not alone in his quest to free his fellow Floopians. He is ably assisted by The General, the General's right-hand man Lackey and the untrustworthy business Floopian Yaaman.

Free the Floopians: Level Mania provides an unique gaming experience by combining action-based gameplay with puzzle elements. The maze-like Caverns of Dragon Mountain are filled with deadly obstacles and mind-numbing puzzles.
Many of the caverns in Free the Floopians: Level Mania require players to find levers and buttons that change the very layout of the caverns themselves, making each cavern a puzzle in itself.

“We set out to create fun and entertaining gaming experience with Free the Floopians: Level Mania and create an immersive, highly interactive game that draws the player into a compelling world,” says Justin Somerville, Founder and Lead Programmer for Canvas Software. “Free the Floopians: Level Mania has been engineered so that the game's size is as small possible, thereby ensuring that players only need to download a small installation file to enjoy the Floopians experience.”

Free the Floopians: Level Mania is available now at www.floopians.com for R125 (ZAR) ($19.99). A free demo is also available for download at www.floopians.com.

For more information, access to the Press section of our website or to arrange an interview, please send and e-mail to our Press Editor (press@floopians.com).
