Pyramid Mausoleums!

http://www.weirdca.com/location.php?location=204

I had always wanted my personal mausoleum to be a classic like this:

or if I can afford it even one of these:
http://www.foreverlegacy.com/?gclid=...FSgYagodt2NwLA

But a pyramid would probably last longer due to its inherently more stable design and weight:

And with deep engravings of course:

One would think that with the growing number of people who prefer cremations that mausoleum prices would drop, but nooooo they are going UP.

Badass. The first one would appeal to me more but something tells me that their availability in New Zealand is minimal.

How much do you think a pyramid mausoleum would cost? My estimate would be around 4 times the cost of a standard one.

From $60,000 US (just a concrete cube with a metal door) to well beyond the price of an average American home (over a million US).

For myself I am actually looking to take advantage of the current economy by trying to find someone who began a project a few years ago and now cannot afford to finish it or keep it, so I may buy one at a discount, hopefully less than $30k US.

If I got a pyramid mausoleum, I'd also want to be mummified.

I hadn't thought of that! But it would add to the cost. I would be happy letting my bones turn to dust anyway. I really just want the mausoleum, not molecular immortality anyway.

If you are ever in the St. Louis area, check out Bellefountaine cemetery- it has everything from traditional to egyptian mausoleums and some of the oddest markers I have ever seen. The sheer size of it makes it a day long slow, inquisitive walk.
