Faith And Disease Keyboardist Shot

Just because nobody else has mentioned it.....

Joaquin Tavares, former keyboardist for Seattle-based band Faith and Disease, was shot and killed in a random shooting incident a few weeks ago.

As far as I know, it goes like this-he was staying with a friend, and stepped out of the apartment, when some guy who had been in an argument with somebody else, pulled out a gun and shot him point blank.

The suspect was arrested and is now in jail awaiting a hearing.

This is a bit personal for me, so rather than go on about it here, I'll just leave it with this-Faith and Disease were at one time, not just the best goth band around, but also one of the greatest bands in the world, period. More than that, F&D were friends of mine. People I gave a shit about. This sucks. This sucks hard. However, I don't want any condolences. If you feel the need to give them, please give them to Cooley and company via their website.

I know, all the music and newspapers in Seattle mentioned this soonafter it happened, and I still can't believe a guy from this wonderful band would get shot. That's so bizarre. I never met him but from what I hear he was a very cool guy, as all of the members in FaD are. Halo
