Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Music before you die
Bah, I know there are threads similar to this and hell, it even asks a similar question on the introduction.
Anyway, I was remembering before my grandfather died of cancer, the last intelligible request he gave to my father was to listen to "The Ride of the Valkyries." He momentarily came out of his stupor, to say, 'That was beautiful,' and thusly sunk into sleep. He never woke up again.
Putting this malaise aside, I came across my own favorite song, you might recognize it as 'Celes' theme' from Final Fantasy 6 sung in Japanese or Italian. It does have another name, but I need to look it up. I realize that if I could make a request like my grandfather did, I would like to listen to that song.
Thusly, it piques my interest to see if other people have a similar song. I apologize for the emoesque post, but that song always stirs up the sentimental side of me.

So does it have to be like a video game song or just any song?
Well if its any song, than I would want the song Masquerade from the Phantom of the Opera. I would have chosen the main theme but its too overused and I think I like Masquerade better. I would pick it because its a beautiful song and thats when the Phantom announces his grand play.
If its video game music, than It would be either Passion from KHII or SUTEKI DA NE, from FFX.

Nah, doesn't have to be opera or anything else. Mine just falls in line with those because it has strong ties to childhood. Good stuff though

I was just asking if it had to be video game music, the other songs was of my own desicion.
I don't really consider Phantom of the opera an opera anyway, more of a play.

For me, it would probably be the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, or Våren ("Spring") by Grieg. Both have a deep, personal meaning to me.

Either Beethoven's 6th (ooh, so Soylent Green!) or Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros.

Nurse With Wound's "Alien" 7 inch single.
It ends in a locked groove, thus not allowing me to die at the end and extending my life indefinitely... or as long as someone didn't pick up the needle.

It seems like a good passing song.

Well, here's to immortality then. I just hope they have a back up battery. If not, you could always try for something Frankenstienian.

As I lay dying? Let it be from the Beatles.
Or to prolong my last minutes of life: Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

"Flowers" by Rozz Williams. I know it's cliche', but it fits the occasion perfectly.
