Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

What song...
What song can you not stop listening to right now? You know what I mean, you put itunes on repeat and just listen over and over, what's your obsessions people. Post lyrics if you want
Mine is Wait and Bleed by Slipknot
I've felt the hate rise up in me...
Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves...
I wander over where you can't see...
Inside my shell, I wait and bleed...
Goodbye!
I wipe it off on tile, the light is brighter this time
Everything is 3D blasphemy
My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up
This is not the way I pictured me
I can't control my shakes
How the hell did I get here?
Something about this, so very wrong...
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this
Is it a dream or a memory?
I've felt the hate rise up in me...
Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves...
I wander over where you can't see...
Inside my shell, I wait and bleed...
Get outta my head cuz I don't need this
Why I didn't I see this?
I'm a victim - Manchurian candidate
I have sinned by just
Makin' my mind up and takin' your breath away
I've felt the hate rise up in me...
Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves...
I wander over where you can't see...
Inside my shell, I wait and bleed...
Goodbye!
You haven't learned a thing
I haven't changed a thing
My flesh was in my bones
The pain was always free
I've felt the hate rise up in me...
Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves...
I wander out where you can't see...
Inside my shell, I wait and bleed...
And it waits for you!

I've been listening to Vollmond by In Extremo a lot, but mostly because I'm trying to pick up how to play the bagpipe and harp parts. It's an awesome song.

First song to come to my mind would be "Venus In Furs" (Lou Reed live version). Love it. Oh, and of course recordings of the arias I'm trying to learn at the moment.

For me I guess "Tower of Strength" by Rudimentary Peni.
Lyrics:
Tower of strength takes to the sea
Scours ocean via quay
Same old story muscle bound and gorey
Brand new story death without glory
Infinite story so new, so hoary
Build a tower of strength and watch it weaken
Construct high hopes as the brightest beacon
Watch the seagulls eat the trash
You contemptuosly ditch
Do you know a seagull?
Do you know a wreck?
Are you tired of the tide?
Are you tired of the tide?
Roll in a rock pool, come let's hide
Do you know a raging wind?
Do you know a seagull?
Do you know a wreck?
Do you know a raging wind?
Are you tired of the tide?
Are you tired of the tide?
Roll in a rock pool, come let's hide
Tower of strength takes to the sea, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

Guess that'd be Desperate Hell by Christian Death. Good goth it's beautifully demonic and well-written. I have memorized every lyric from this song. I am even adopting the vocal styling.
Goth Forever
Goth Forever
Goth Forever

Maybe "Promises" or "Everybody's Happy Nowadays" by the Buzzcocks.
Maybe just the Buzzcocks in general.

Possibly "Antmusic" by Adam & The Ants; I've had it stuck in my head for days.
Lyrics:
well I'm standing here looking at you
what do I see?
I'm looking straight through
it's so sad
when you're young
to be told
you're having fun
so unplug the jukebox
and do us all a favour
that music's lost its taste
so try another flavour -
antmusic x 4
well I'm standing here what do I see?
a big nothing
threatening me
it's so sad
when you're young
to be told
you're having fun
so unplug the jukebox
and do us all a favour
that music's lost its taste
so try another flavour -
antmusic x 4
so unplug the jukebox
and do us all a favour
that music's lost its taste
so try another flavour -
antmusic x 4
don't tread on an ant he's done nothing to you
there might come a day
when he's treading on you
don't tread on an ant you'll end up black and blue
you cut off his head
legs come looking for you
so unplug the jukebox
and do us all a favour
that music's lost its taste
so try another flavour -
antmusic x 4
so unplug the jukebox
and do us all a favour
that music's lost its taste
so try another flavour -
antmusic...

Right now it's Les Jeux Sont Faits by Bohemien. Every day when I switch on my computer/iPod I play it first.

I've been pushing back on the CD player in my car at the end of "Flowing Glower" by Deadsy over and over again...
Now you know
Places where I live
When I couldn't grow
Downward you'll soon drift
On the sailless boat
Nothing left to give
All I see is throat
Flowing glower
Witless knower
Seedless sower
If it's all a lie
Will you realise?
Right before we die
My soul leads to the wrong
Changeling of the night
Now that I bleed a song
Purely based on fright
Sad with my face so long
I have this new sight
Flowing glower
Witless knower
Five steps lower
If I tell a lie
Will you realise?
Numb the pain
Way high and real low
Now it feels the same
Have love or feel so
Hollowed out with shame
Hoping to see the day
With my brand new name
Flowing glower
Seedless sower
I'm bipolar
If I die tonight
Will you be alright?
Then in time you'll find
Thirst becomes boring
Quest your heart and mind
Now that we're soaring
Over space and time
Done with exploring
All you are is mine
Flowing glower
Ruthless flower
Breathless blower
If it's all a lie
Will you realise?
Seek and you shall find
Everything inside
Read between the lines
I'll show you the light
Here in the afterlife

The Bondage Song by London After Midnight.
Innocent child,
how you thought you knew me,
understood my ways,
my dark needs,
the hunt is not the thrill I'm after,
I want the kill, the conquest,
to be your master,
wrap your arms around my pale skin,
it's too late to back out you're in,
on your knees and praise your new lord,
deeper now, and here's your reward,
take me to bed and rip me apart...

I am so suffering with a song-mind-loop problem. One tune stuck in my head for days now...Guns of Brixton by The Clash.
When they kick in your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun...
I love the song but it's becoming debilitating.

Yeah... yeah, it is. It's one of those songs that you can only get out of your head with a bullet.
For me, right now it's, "Herr X," by Ultravox.
