happy music

I must admit, Im not really that in love with "gothic" music, or any thing hardcore, metal thrashing, drink blood kind of thing, with the exception of some bands/musicians.
I have recenlty become more into female vocalists like Regina Spektor etc. Happy people making happy music that makes me feel happy.

What stuff makes you happy that you maybe shouldn't like ?

People will slaughter me for this.
But I'm a huge ICP fan.
And lots of hip hop/rap in general.
As long as it isn't about smashing up whores and stuff.

Well presonally.
I've always loved clowns.
And they make me laugh.
I'm not sure why other people like them.
But that's me personally.

I'm not going to even get started on ICP...No offense to you, dear, they just drive me insane.

I listen to poppy Chinese music--Aaron Kwok, for example.

I totally understand that.
I just tend to like terrible music.

I like Chinese poppy music as well.

Chinese poppy music is great. Especially when it's played on a childerns game

Yer.
Whiteboy rappers that wear clown makeup.
Most people hate them.
But I have an odd liking for them.

Asian pop music should be considered a drug because of how cute it is.

There are quite a few bands I listen to that make me feel all warm and happy inside.

Aqua, Smile.dk, Tiggy, Toy-Box, Cartoons, Vengaboys, Me & My (SuPer Sisters), Daft Punk, The Dresden Dolls, Emilie Autumn, Enya, Kitaro, Amethystium, Creature Feature, Garbage, Voltaire, and a slew of others.

Mind you though, some of these bands (the first seven in my list) are Bubblegum Dance groups, so if you tend to hate that kind of genre, then don't check them out. Bubblegum Dance is an acquired taste most people avoid like the plague.

They make me feel 7 again.

Goth doesn't involve hardcore, metal thrashing, or blood drinking unless it's being tongue-in-cheek.

Well, I have a strong like for pop punk. Green Day, Blink 182, Sum 41, and Simple Plan to be precise.

The Grateful Dead make me happy, as well as a lot of 90's radio rock/pop. You wouldn't believe how I enjoy some of the most bubblegum shit in existence, but I grew up with it. Off the top of my head... Third Eye Blind, Sugar Ray, Eve 6, Incubus, Ace of Base, No Doubt... I could go on.

Does relaxed count as happy? If so, then 7 Angels 7 Plagues! Beautiful, beautiful music.

I'd guess that Bulldog Mansion's "Happy Birthday To Me" is happy music to me. Gotta love J-pop rock ^^

Why is it the poppy music that makes people happy? xD
Is the commercialized venom we're fed through our conforming society's mirror of behaviour control making our bodily tools release endorphines, causing us to be pulled out of a melancholic state of contemplation?

J-pop! Yay ^^

UK82 gets me up and ready any time. Pop punk however, I hate. I'll stick with the good stuff.

The song "Ballad of the Man" by the Virgin Prunes is a happy song. I love it. It's the happiest goth song ever. Along with Specimen's "Syria".

I dig classical music; especially anything involving strings or string solos. There are plenty of modern pieces that incorporate string instruments.

Of modern pieces (as in themes are movie soundtracks) I am quite fond of the Carnivale soundtrack (composed by Jeff Bael), though to be fair they used
a modified fiddle in place of a violin. Though honestly, I am not sure if this string sound was a fiddle in the western concept of a fiddle. there is another instrument that I cannot recall that is similar to a violin, but has completely different construction... and has a very haunting sound.

Then again, playing the violin for 15 years will make you a bit biased

I like a couple of Ingrid Michaelson's songs, like
The Way I Am <--click . Seems like I could get annoyed by her music pretty quickly, though, because even though it's Indie I can see it going mainstream and getting overplayed. She reminds me vaguely of Regina Spektor.

A happy song that I shouldn't be listening to?
Hmm...

The Bilz - Mere Khayaalon Mein (it's a Hindi song, but it's soo beautifully romantic. lol.)

Lets see:
- The Beatles
- Muse (I absolutely adore them. They are my favorite ungoth band)
- Aerosmith (some not all)
- Guns and Roses (Sweet Child o' Mine, Paradise City)

If you like them, then they're not terrible. Your opinion is only one that matters in the end =)
