Hello

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I'm going to college with a major in psychology. My hobbies are: reading, writing, listening to music (I have a particular obsession with buying cheap records at the moment), recently taking a shot at making jewelry, reading up on different religions, and that's about it.

2. Where are you from?
USA (Pennsylvania to be more specific)

3. Who is your favorite author?
I would say Samuel Taylor Coleridge simply because he wrote my absolute favorite poem of all time "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" (hence my name Mariner).

4. What are your favorite films?
That's difficult, but I'll attempt a brief list: Labyrinth, Mirrormask, The Dark Crystal, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Moulin Rouge, The Hunger, What Dreams May Come, Rose Red, Pan's Labyrinth.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
I don't know...not something I've ever given much thought. I'm not very good at making plans in general, so I don't attempt to make plans in my head for events far in the future.

6. At your funeral?
I simply don't know.

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
In my sleep would be nice...

8. What kind of casket would you want?
One that isn't too expensive...my grandmother recently died and I hated to see my dad trying to take care of all of the costs while he was grieving. I want my funeral to be as inexpensive as possible.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
My black corset with an old hand-me-down dark red skirt covered in red flowers, black choker, earrings I got made from old fancy spoons, black heels, and a purple victorian looking bracelet my aunt gave me.

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Not much, my childhood wasn't the best. If anything I miss my old best friend...I thought she would stick by me forever...

11. What's your favorite band?
Oh, I don't have one, I'm terrible at having a favorite anything (I simply am no good at making up my mind). Here's s few I enjoy lately: Blood Sweat & Tears, Regina Spektor, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Nightwish, Kamelot, Sting, Bauhaus, Emilie Autumn, Bach (Bach isn't a band...but I enjoy his music lol)

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
I'm in college as I said before, my major is psychology.

13. Why did you join?
I'm interested in gothic fashion and music.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
female.

15. (I'm adding this one, because I think it should have been asked) What are some of your favorite books?
Frankenstein, Heart of Darkness, Crime and Punishment, The Stand, Jane Eyre, Mist of Avalon, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Lord of the Rings (all three), The Hobbit, anything by Edgar Allan Poe, 1984, Paradise Lost, King Lear

Currently reading The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky, I believe this will be a favorite of mine just as Crime and Punishment is.

Hellz yeh Paradise Lost!

I'm the first one to reply, I'm so excited! LOL
You seem like a really caring, sweet person. Don't let anybody get to you here, we're all assholes. Sometimes. Not all of us, really, but... You catch the drift. Welcome to the show!

Yes, Paradise Lost is a lovely book...it gives such an interesting take on Satan. I'm glad that you think I'm a nice person, you seem pretty nice yourself. Thanks for the welcome.

Thank you Apathy's_Child. I love classic literature, I wish more people my age appreciated it. Reading seems to have become a bit of a rare activity these days.

I really like your movie list. A lot! And being a BS&T fan makes you a kindred spirit.

Welcome to this place. I look forward to your contributions.

Literature and psychology fit together well. What kind do you plan on specializing in, if that's what you want to get into?

Oh, I'm not sure what I would like to specialize in yet...there are so many options with a degree in psychology. I will be getting my doctorate though, I'm sure of that much.

Yes! A Blood Sweat & Tears fan! No one my age likes them (I'm 19 by the way), my mom introduced me to them lol. Jazz and rock...Blood Sweat & Tears makes them work beautifully together.

That's a good description of it. And the lead singer has such a distinctive voice.

From that era I really like them ... and I have to admit, I like Three Dog Night too. That's another band no one under 30 thinks much of.

Well, there go those goth points I wasn't counting on anyway. LOL!

Lol. I have a degree in Psych and I do jewelry repairs. There really is not much to do in the field.

The higher the degree the better chance at a job in the field of psychology.

I can't find anything to really complain about, which is pretty unusual, and you're a fellow Douglas Adams fan, so welcome!

Well, I'll be honest in asnwering this question. I could just answer that I am interested in the human mind (it is after all vedry interesting), but it's a bit more than that. The truth is I have overcome some mental issues of my own caused by a bit of a traumatic childhood. My mother was physically and mentally abusive to my oldest sister and sometimes me and my other sister. I've been through therapy and on medication. I'm interested in Psychology because of how it's been a part of my life.
